As a Linux veteran, I think Ubuntu is over-hyped. Every time I though I should give Ubuntu a try (the most recent one being 8.04.1), I always came back disappointed, and back to SuSE.

However, there is one distro that IMO has the potential of replacing SuSE, and it is OpenSolaris. Of course, the opinion will differ depending on one’s particular needs.
